This paper reviews various demands and issues in developing regional health statistics. Since we are facing full implementation of local autonomy government system in the next year, it is very helpful to review them at this time point.
Basically, we are equipped with good resource and system of collecting health statistics, However, lack of its efficiency raises questions on its reliability. If we efficiently arrange local government to develop statistics, the quality of the
statistics would be much enhanced.
Also, we need to develop data base system for morbidity data, infant health data, health resources data, environmental health data, and others. We discussed several aspects to support the above data system development.
